South African education pioneer, Taddy Blecher, added to the programme

Dr Taddy Blecher, considered a pioneer of the free education movement in South Africa, will be discussing his latest project, the “learn and earn” Maharishi Institute in Johannesburg. This is one of the most exciting projects we have seen, as it will create a self-sustaining (and economically self-sufficient) educational institution. It will provide free education from Grade 11 to MBA, while – most importantly – providing students with salaries so they don’t have to drop out to support their families.

On this basis, Taddy says the model can be rolled out across Africa – a potentially game-changing initiative in the global education sector. He will be will be taking part in Stream B on
funding education, as well as the closing debate on taking seeds of success to scale. You can learn more about CIDA city campus, founded by Taddy, here.
