Biography

Bill Fowler Bill Fowler
Director, Global Education, Cisco Systems, Inc, USA

Bill is the Director of Cisco’s Global Education Group and Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility, aligning the companies’ wide ranging expertise and solutions for the education market and acting as Global Ambassador to education including UNESCO, the World Economic Forum and the OECD. Currently leading Cisco Mexico 3.0 Education Initiative to help transform Mexican schools education, he was also Executive Director of Connecting Sichuan, Cisco’s $45 million response to the devastating Sichuan quake and was Executive Director for the Twenty-first Century Schools Initiative, Cisco’s $80m programme for rebuilding and transforming schools after Katrina.

He has helped school systems, higher education, governments, and businesses achieve their goals for improving schools leadership, student achievement, streamlining operations and using 21st Century technology. Some of these include: China, Jordan, Lebanon, the UK, Stanford, Harvard, Los Angeles Unified, University of North Carolina, Jefferson Parish, the New York City DOE, Chicago Public Schools, and DOE’s in Alberta, Arizona, California, North Carolina, New South Wales and Saskatchewan.

Through his decade at Cisco, Bill has been leading the development of Cisco’s IBSG Education consulting practice and the Cisco Networking Academy. He has taught at the high school level as well as an adjunct at the University of Arizona. Prior to joining Cisco, Fowler was Assistant Superintendent for Business Affairs and General Council for schools in Riverside County and South Central Los Angeles, California.
