Dr Carol K.K. Chan
Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Carol is Convener of a Strategic Research Theme on Sciences of Learning at the University of Hong Kong. Her research areas include learning, cognition, and instruction with a focus on designing and assessing collaborative knowledge building supported with technology for 21st century education. Currently Carol directs one of the largest knowledge-building teacher networks internationally.
She is an Executive Member of the Asian Pacific Society of Computers in Education and an Editorial Board Member of several leading journals in the field including Journal of the Learning Sciences, Learning and Instruction and Exceptional Children. She has won international research awards on knowledge building conducted in Chinese classrooms. Carol also specialises in scholarship of teaching integrating her research in Learning Sciences with her classroom teaching. She is a recipient of both Distinguished Teacher Award at the Faculty and University Teaching Fellow at the University of Hong Kong. |
