Before taking up his Ministerial post, Dr Mneimneh was Vice President of the Lebanese Association for Research and Historical Studies. He has contributed to a number of educational committees that worked on developing the curricula and internal laws and regulations of the Lebanese University.

Dr Mneimneh started his academic career as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities in the Lebanese University and was later the Dean of the Faculty for six years; he still lectures in the areas of History and Historical Research.

As a university lecturer he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Lebanese University Lecturers’ Union; he is still a member of the Council of Union Delegates.
