In her role at the Secretariat for International Relations, Jaana works directly under the Ministers and the Permanent Secretary. Jaana and her team are charged with developing international activities, preparing international agreements and multilateral and bilateral cooperation for the Ministry as well as coordination with the European Union, United Nations and UNESCO.

Prior to taking up her position at the Ministry of Education, Jaana worked for the National Board of Education / FTP International Ltd, first as a Home Office Co-ordinator for regional training programmes in South-East Africa, and then as Area Manager for Central and Eastern European countries.
