HE Dr Majid Al Nuaimi has been Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain since November 12, 2002. During his time as Minister, the Decree of the Education Law and the Decree of the Higher Education Law were passed, and the Higher Education Council was formed, as well as the establishment of a new teachers’ cadre.

Prior to that, he was President of the University of Bahrain, as well as Director of the office of HH the Crown Prince, Director of the office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, and Director of the office of HH the Chairman of Bahrain Centre for Studies & Research. As well as his roles within the Ministries, HE Dr Al Nuaimi was also a Professor of History and Culture at the University of Bahrain.

He plays an active role on a number of boards and councils, including: President of the Higher Education Council; Chairman of the Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture; Chairman of the University of Bahrain Board of Trustees; Member of the UNESCO Executive Board; and Member of the Higher Council for Vocational Training.
