Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan’s dynamic leadership as a cabinet Minister and Academic Administrator has guided and shaped higher education in the United Arab Emirates and has established a successful model for higher education throughout the Gulf region. As well as his Ministerial role, he is the Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, the President of Zayed University, and the Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology.

Sheikh Nahayan’s work over the years has focused on building and enhancing the quality and stature of UAE colleges and universities to assure that students have a learning environment that prepares them to succeed in a changing, multicultural, high technology world. He plays a major role in policy formulation related to the economic and social development of the UAE and is actively involved in formulating and implementing policies for education and human resource development in the country.
